Linked Through Learning

Privacy Policy

Last updated October 10, 2026

Effective date: October 24, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Linked Through Learning, LLC ("LTL", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses and shares information about you when you use linkedthroughlearning.com and our other services (the "Services"), and the choices you have. It's part of our Terms of Service; words defined there mean the same here.

Summary

  • We collect what you give us (like your name, email, purchases, and for sellers, payout and tax details), what we record when you use the site (like your IP address, browser and searches), and a little from others (like our payment processor).
  • We use it to run the marketplace: your account, orders, downloads, payouts, taxes, support, safety and improving the site.
  • We share it with the sellers you buy from, with the companies that help us run LTL (such as our payment, email and storage providers), and when the law requires. We don't sell your personal information for money. We use Google Analytics to see how the site is used, and Google's advertising tools to show and measure our ads, including on other sites; you can opt out (Section 6). Some sellers add a Facebook (Meta) Pixel to their store pages, as Section 5 explains.
  • Your choices: you can update your profile, manage your emails, remove saved cards, and ask us to see, correct or delete your information.
  • LTL is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children, and students don't have accounts.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Information you give us

  • Account details: your name, email address and password. We store only a scrambled (hashed) version of your password, so we never see it. If you turn on two-step sign-in, we store what's needed for it.
  • Your profile (optional): your role (for example, classroom teacher or homeschool parent), state, school, the grades, subjects and standards you teach, the language you teach in, and your address.
  • Purchases: what you buy, gift cards you buy or redeem, credits you earn, discounts you use, and your refund requests. To pay, you give your card details and billing address to our payment processor (Section 1.3). We keep only your card's brand, its last four digits and a reference from the processor if you choose to save it.
  • What you post and send: reviews (including, if you choose, the grades and groups of students you used a resource with), questions and answers, messages to and from stores, reports about resources or conversations, and anything you send through the feedback tab.
  • Agreements: when you agree to our Terms, Privacy Policy or Seller Agreement, we record which version you agreed to, when, where on the site, and your IP address.

If you're a seller, you also give us:

  • Seller details: your legal name, address, phone number and confirmation that you're 18 or older.
  • Store information: your store's name, logo, banner and profile, which are public, and your resources and listings.
  • Payout details: your bank account and routing numbers (stored encrypted) or your PayPal email address.
  • Tax information (Form W-9): your legal and business names, tax classification, address, Social Security or Employer Identification Number (stored encrypted; we show only the last four digits), your typed signature, and when and from which IP address you signed.
  • Rights statements: for each resource, what you confirmed about your rights to sell it, who confirmed it, when and from which IP address.
  • Your store team: the email addresses of the people you invite to help run your store.

1.2 Information we collect automatically

  • Device and connection: your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you visit, recorded in our server logs and your sign-in session.
  • Orders and downloads: the IP address used to place each order, and the date, IP address and browser for each download. We use these to deliver purchases, prevent fraud and answer questions about access.
  • Searches: what you search for on LTL and what you click or buy afterwards, linked to a random visitor ID stored in a cookie (Section 6). We keep searches for about 13 months.
  • Visit stats: the pages you view, the site that linked you to us, your browser, device type and country, and what you do on the site (such as searching, adding to your cart, checking out or buying, with the resource, store and amount), counted with Umami, a stats tool we run on our own server. It uses no cookies and doesn't store your IP address or anything else that identifies you.
  • Cookies: described in Section 6.

1.3 Information from others

  • Our payment processor (Finix) tells us whether a payment went through, and gives us your card's brand and last four digits. It also runs fraud checks using information from your browser.
  • Sellers who bring their store to LTL from another marketplace may bring the public ratings and reviews of their own products with them, including each reviewer's first name and last initial and what they wrote. If you wrote one of those reviews and want it removed from LTL, contact us.
  • Store owners give us the email addresses of the assistants they invite.

2. How we use information

We use information to:

  • Run your account and the marketplace: create and secure accounts, process orders and refunds, deliver resources, keep track of licenses, gift cards and credits, and show your purchases.
  • Run stores and pay sellers: list resources, calculate earnings, make payouts, and collect and pay sales tax.
  • Meet legal duties: keep financial records, file tax forms (such as Form 1099-K) and respond to lawful requests.
  • Communicate with you: send receipts and account and security notices, and, if you choose, replies to your messages, news, store notes and other updates (Section 7).
  • Keep LTL safe: prevent fraud, abuse and infringement, enforce our Terms, and investigate reports.
  • Improve LTL: understand how the site is used, for example which searches find what people want, and test changes (for example, comparing two versions of search results).
  • Personalize your experience: show resources that fit the grades and subjects you teach.
  • Advertise LTL: show our ads to people who've visited LTL, on Google and other sites, and measure whether they lead to visits and purchases (Section 6).

LTL is run from the United States, and your information is stored and processed in the United States. If you use the Services from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to, stored and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live.

3. How we share information

3.1 With sellers

When you buy or download a resource, the seller sees your name, what you got and when, how many of their resources you've bought, when you last downloaded it, and your state. They don't see your email address or payment details. Sellers may use this only to support you and run their store (our Seller Agreement says so).

3.2 With other members and the public

Some things are public by design:

  • Reviews and answered questions show on the resource's page with your first name and last initial.
  • Stores show the store's name, logo, banner, profile and resources.
  • Messages go to the store you write to: its owner and the assistants they've invited.

3.3 With store teams

Assistants a store owner invites can see that store's products, questions and messages, but not its earnings, payouts, tax information or sales reports.

3.4 With service providers

We use companies that process information for us, under contracts that limit what they can do with it:

  • Payments: Finix (card payments and fraud checks) and PayPal (payouts to sellers who choose PayPal).
  • Email and file storage: Amazon Web Services (sending email, and storing files, images and backups, in the United States).
  • Hosting and backups: the companies that host our servers and keep our encrypted offsite backups.
  • Tax forms: a tax form filing service, to file and send the tax forms we're required to give sellers.
  • Banks: our bank, to send seller payouts by ACH transfer.
  • Analytics and advertising: Google (Google Analytics and Google Ads). Through cookies and similar technologies, Google receives the pages you visit, your browser and device, an approximate location from your IP address and, when you buy, the order number, the resources and the amount. We don't give Google your name or email address (Section 6).

3.5 For legal reasons and safety

We may share information when we believe the law requires it (for example, a court order or subpoena), to enforce our Terms, to respond to a copyright notice, or to protect the rights, property or safety of our members, LTL or others.

3.6 If our business changes hands

If LTL is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, bankruptcy or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of it. We'll tell you, and the new owner will have to honor this policy for the information it receives.

3.7 With your permission

We'll share information in other ways when you ask us to or agree.

We may also share information that has been combined or de-identified so it can't reasonably identify you, for example totals of sales by state.

4. We don't sell your information

We don't sell your personal information for money. We do let Google collect information through cookies on LTL so we can show and measure our ads (Section 6). Under some state privacy laws this counts as "sharing" information or "targeted advertising", and you can opt out of it (Sections 6 and 11.2). Sellers who add a Meta Pixel to their store can use it to show you ads on Meta's services, as Section 5 explains.

5. Tracking tools that sellers add

A seller can add their own Facebook (Meta) Pixel to their store. If they do, when you visit that store's pages or resources, your browser sends Meta information such as the page you viewed, the resources you looked at, and when you add one to your cart or wish list. Meta may connect this to your Meta account and use it for advertising, under Meta's privacy policy. LTL doesn't receive this information from Meta. Sellers, not LTL, are responsible for how they use these tools. You can limit this with your browser's or Meta's ad settings, or a tracker-blocking browser extension.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. We use:

  • A sign-in cookie, so you stay signed in as you move around the site, and a "remember me" cookie if you tick that box when signing in. These are needed for the site to work.
  • A visitor ID cookie, a random code kept for one year, so we can tell which searches lead people to the resources they want and test improvements to search. It isn't used for advertising.
  • Google cookies, set by Google Analytics and Google Ads, to count visits and returning visitors, see whether our ads lead to purchases, and show our ads to people who've visited LTL. Google uses this information under its own policy.
  • Sellers' Meta Pixels, on stores that add one (Section 5).

We also count visits with Umami, which runs on our own server and uses no cookies (Section 1.2).

Opting out of Google: to turn off Google ads based on your activity, use Google's My Ad Center, and to stop Google Analytics, use Google's opt-out browser add-on. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we turn off Google's advertising cookies for you. In the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google's cookies are turned off. Videos from YouTube or Vimeo load only when you press play. YouTube videos use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, and Vimeo videos are set not to track, but once a video plays, YouTube or Vimeo may set their own cookies under their policies.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the sign-in cookie, you won't be able to sign in.

7. Emails we send

  • Emails you'll always get, because they're part of using LTL: receipts, account and security notices, refund updates, payout and tax notices for sellers, and invitations.
  • Emails you can turn off in your account's email settings: news, teaching tips and offers from LTL; new resources and notes from stores you follow; discounts on resources in your cart; updates to resources you bought; answers to your questions; and replies from stores you message. Sellers can also choose emails about their store's questions, reviews, sales and messages. Every optional email also has a link to stop it.

8. Children and students

LTL is for adults. You must be 18 or older to have an account, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Students don't have accounts and don't use the Services directly; teachers download resources and use them with their students outside LTL.

Please don't include a student's name or anything else that could identify a student in reviews, questions or messages. When you review a resource, you can say which groups of students you used it with (for example, students learning English), but never individual students.

If you believe we've collected information from a child, contact us and we'll delete it. Our Student privacy page explains more.

9. How we protect information

We use safeguards suited to the information involved, including:

  • encrypted connections (HTTPS) throughout the site;
  • hashed passwords and optional two-step sign-in;
  • encryption of Social Security and Employer Identification Numbers and bank account details;
  • card details handled by our payment processor, never stored on our servers;
  • paid resource files kept in private storage and delivered through download links that expire after a few minutes; and
  • limited staff access, with two-step sign-in required for administrators.

No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee the security of your information. Keep your password private and sign out on shared computers. If we learn of a security breach affecting your personal information, we'll tell you as the law requires. Our Security page explains how to report a security problem.

10. How long we keep information

We keep information for as long as your account is open, and afterwards as long as we need it for the reasons in this policy, including to:

  • keep giving buyers access to resources they bought from a store that has closed;
  • keep financial, tax and order records, generally for at least 7 years;
  • resolve disputes, prevent fraud and enforce our agreements; and
  • meet other legal duties.

Some information is kept for set periods: searches for about 13 months, earlier versions of resource files for 90 days, visit stats for about 2 years, and database backups for up to 60 days. Information that's been de-identified may be kept longer.

11. Your choices and rights

11.1 Choices for everyone

  • Your profile: see and update your account and profile details in your account settings. You can remove optional details at any time.
  • Saved cards: remove a saved card on the Payment methods page in your account.
  • Emails: choose which optional emails you get in your email settings (Section 7).
  • Your content: contact us to remove a review, question or other content you've posted.
  • Closing your account: contact us to close your account. We'll delete or de-identify your information except what we need to keep (Section 10).

11.2 Rights under state privacy laws

If a state privacy law applies to LTL and to you (for example, in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia or Texas), you may have the rights that law gives you, such as the right to:

  • know what personal information we have about you and how we use and share it, and get a copy of it in a portable format;
  • correct information that's wrong;
  • delete your information, with some exceptions;
  • opt out of the sale of your information, targeted advertising, or profiling that has legal or similarly significant effects (we don't sell your information for money; to opt out of Google's targeted advertising, use the choices in Section 6 or send a Global Privacy Control signal; Section 5 explains sellers' Meta Pixels); and
  • appeal if we decline your request.

To make a request, email us at support@linkedthroughlearning.com or use the contact details in Section 14. We'll confirm your identity before acting, usually by asking you to confirm your request from your account's email address. You can authorize someone to make a request for you; we'll need proof they're authorized. We won't treat you differently for using these rights. If we decline your request, we'll tell you why and how to appeal.

11.3 Nevada residents

We don't sell personal information as Nevada law defines it. If you live in Nevada, you can still ask us not to sell your information by emailing support@linkedthroughlearning.com with the subject "Nevada Do Not Sell Request", your name and your account's email address.

11.4 Do Not Track

Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal. There's no agreed standard for responding to it, so the Services don't respond to Do Not Track signals. We do respond to Global Privacy Control: when your browser sends it, Google's advertising cookies are turned off.

12. Information about other people

Sellers who invite assistants, and members who mention others in their content, are responsible for having the right to share that information with us.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. If a change is significant, we'll tell you by email or a notice on the site before it takes effect, and may ask you to agree to the new version. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
