As one of the integrated units within my reading program I decided to give the class choices as to what science project they would like to work on and then write a convincing opinion paper about their results. This resource helped me give better choices and somewhat of a skeleton outline for them to follow.

I really try to work on writing scientifically with my students which is not the easiest thing. I would recommend these as a good way to help kids with their writing.

This format was what we needed to start a lab report about brine shrimp. My grandson has struggled with writing, and he quickly picked up the page and started filling in the blanks. I eventually let him finish his in a quirky/fun format, while I filled out the companion one with more scientific data we discussed and agreed on. I was surprised at how quickly he took to this and how well he participated!
