Through this resource, students discover that maths is everywhere, even in their own summer memories. On the number-prompt pages, they respond to numbers 0 through 5 with a real detail from their break, such as how many ice creams they had or how many dogs they spotted, building number sense and confidence with writing through personal, meaningful recall.

On the mind map page, they brainstorm summer activities freely, sorting what they did, didn't do, and wished they'd done. On the number sentence page, they take it a step further, turning real summer moments into simple addition, subtraction or multiplication sentences, such as 3 x 3 = 9 for three ice creams enjoyed three times.
