Monet is a beloved artist and one of the founders of the Impressionist movement. But he wasn't always supported and admired as an artist. Learn about his career in this French reading comprehension activity. Includes three different versions of the reading for differentiation - novicehigh (in present tense), intermediate low (in passé composé and imparfait) and intermediate mid (using passé simple),
This French reading comprehension activity includes numerous imparfait and passé composé verbs, so it would be useful for second year when students are learning the past tense.

There were a few typos in the resource, but overall the students enjoyed the simple text. Would love an update with corrections.

Last year I was supposed to create a unit on Monet (with specific purposes and parameters). Due to Covid, that goal was shelved and I'll probably get back to it this year. This resource may well be part of related optional readings the kids can use/access, but mostly it's helpful to me to read shorter summaries highlighting key points and information and know what others find most important to know / tell about Monet.
