Description

This conditional hidden picture French activity gives students focused, self-grading practice with le conditionnel. The no-prep Google Sheets resource contains five digital boards covering -ER, -IR, -RE, irregular, and mixed verbs.

Assign one board at a time or use all five for an extended French conditional conjugation review.

Students type their conjugated verb forms into the answer boxes. Each correct response reveals one section of a hidden image. An incorrect response displays “false,” allowing students to identify the mistake, revise their answer, and continue working independently.

The five hidden-picture boards cover:

  • -ER verbs
  • -IR verbs
  • -RE verbs
  • Irregular verbs
  • Mixed verb review

How the activity works:

  1. Share the Google Sheets file with students.
  2. Students type the correct conditional form of each verb.
  3. Every correct response reveals part of an image.
  4. Incorrect responses display “false.”
  5. Students correct their work until the complete picture appears.

Use these French conditional games for:

  • Independent conjugation practice
  • Grammar review
  • Learning stations
  • Homework
  • Early finishers
  • Test preparation
  • Targeted practice by verb type
  • A full-class-period review
  • Additional practice for students who need more repetition

The separate boards make differentiation easy. Assign a regular-verb board for focused practice, use the irregular-verb board for additional support, or finish with the mixed board as a cumulative review.

Students receive immediate visual feedback, allowing them to correct mistakes without waiting for every answer to be graded. The hidden-image format gives them a clear reason to keep working until every conjugation is correct.

This activity is designed as French conditional conjugation practice after students have learned how to form le conditionnel. It does not replace a complete lesson on forming or using the conditional.

Please note: This is a digital Google Sheets resource. Students need access to a compatible device and the shared file. Review any included teacher directions concerning file copies, accents, capitalization, and accepted answer formats before assigning the activity.
