French Bell Ringers 100 Conversation Starters Questions Activity One's Gotta Go
(33 ratings)$5.50
Add to cartDo you start off your class with a quick poll or check-in question? This set of French conversation prompts graphics can be used from day one to get students using French. This set has 100 different graphics that you can use in Desmos, Nearpod, Peardeck, or on a social media post to get input from your students. You can also just post in Teams, on a smartboard, or anywhere you can share a jpg image. Each graphic gives them a choice of four different things - and one's gotta go! You can use it in different levels by adjusting the task.
Level 1 - from the beginning, you can have them just choose between options A, B, C and D. Get lots of comprehensible input by having a class discussion about who wants to get rid of each item. Later on, have them write complete sentences starting with "je choisis."
Level 2 - have students start to add more detail to their responses. Tell them to include details - why did they choose the item they did? Have them write more complex sentences explaining why they think their item should go.
Level 3 - have students make their choice and then talk about why they are getting rid of the item and why the other three items get to stay.
Some graphics have very basic vocabulary, some have more advanced items - but all are easy to understand due to the images. There are also some cultural graphics mixed in.
Combine this set with the freebie set of 5 for 105 different graphics.
BONUS - with your purchase you will receive a link to a template on Canva so you can make your own graphics! Use specific vocabulary items or things that come up in your own classroom to personalize them.

“Great resource as a conversation starter! I use this first 5 mins of the class to get students talking.”
“I used these as attendance questions, small group discussion questions, and journal prompts. Kids loved discussing these and there was lots of laughter while justifying why they eliminated their choice.”

For Claude Monet French Reading Comprehension Activities Impressionism
My students were familiar with Claude Monet's work but didn't know much about his life, so this was useful info not in our textbook. I appreciated having the differentiated versions.

Great way to use history to review reflexive verbs while not just focusing on daily routine - which let's be honest, is boring. Who talks about their daily routine on a regular basis? No one.

For Les Animaux Reading Comprehension: 10 A2 French Animal Passages
I left this as a packet for level 2 students in addition to other work when I was out for a few days due to surgery. I offered a few bonus points if they selected 2-3 readings to keep them busy when everything else was turned in. They loved learning about animals and many students who didn't have time while I was out chose to complete the entire packet on their own time for fun once I was back.

Thank you for letting me know about the missing link - I've updated the image and it should be working now. You may have to F5/refresh to get the link to show properly (it covers the body of the statue).
