This intermediate French reading comprehension activity will teach your students about the Belgian singer Stromae. It is suitable for novice-high/intermediate-low students with teacher guidance and higher level students to work independently. If you teach AP French, this reading can be useful in giving your students practice reading nonfiction articles for the interpretive section of the test. The reading can lead to discussion or writing activities to include the other two modes of communication.
Stromae has been a hit in Europe for several years, but now he's taking North America by storm! Read about how his career developed and how the events in his life have affected his music.

These resources are culturally perfect for me! While some of them are a bit of a more difficult read for my 5th graders, I am still able to use them. The vocabulary is rich, and most of all, the subjects are different from any other texts I have encountered so far! Love them!

I really like using this resource as students are drawn to Stromae's music and therefore find this read to be interesting. I agree with the comments that recommend providing some spacing in between the words or providing a word version so that we can space it ourselves. Thanks!

Have you considered perhaps including a document with more spacing between the lines so kids can write down new words in English? I know my students would benefit from a little more space! Otherwise- great!
