It is also the home of some amazing natural phenomena. This article tells the story of the Mount, from its beginnings as a religious community to the most recent issues with the new bridge and environmental problems.
There are three different readings for novice-high through intermediate-mid students with teacher guidance and higher-level students to work independently. If you teach AP French, this reading can be useful in giving your students practice reading nonfiction articles for the interpretive section of the test. The reading can lead to discussion or writing activities to include the other two modes of communication.

“My students found this assignment interesting. It challenged their reading.”
“These resources are culturally perfect for me! While some of them are a bit of a more difficult read for my 5th graders, I am still able to use them. The vocabulary is rich, and most of all, the subjects are different from any other texts I have encountered so far! Love them!”

I like to use these readings for emergency sub plans. I love how comprehensible they are and the fact that my students actually feel confident answering the comprehension questions, so it's really not busy work. Merci!
