Students loved working on this activity. I did this on a day where half of the students were gone on a fieldtrip. We worked together as a class and made a game out of who could find the answer first...dang these kids type fast because they beat me every time!

I loved everything about this! My school IT Department did not. Some of the links were blocked on my kid's Chromebooks. Not any fault what so ever of this activity; my school's IT Department is irritating! Will use again and again until I retire! Thank you so much!

Grades taught: 10th
Great resource, just know you may need to check that some sources are not blocked by school's firewalls because they are wiki pages. Students enjoyed looking for links and cracking the code.

My students loved this challenge. The different websites gave different points of view of what happened after Pearl Harbor. It was a fun way to a change things up for distance learning.

I looked forward to using this resource, but my devices in the classroom were not compatible, making it very difficult to use.

Great resource!

I've done an actual breakout room so I may have a little better understanding of the concept than someone who hasn't, but this resource is straightforward and should be engaging and educational for my high school kids.

Allows the student to explore the different aspects of Pearl Harbor. It was a good resource because students have to really find the information instead of it just being in plain sight.

It looks like an activity that has great potential but I found it confusing and not very easy to figure out....I know some of the links showed up weird too.

Some of the hyper links didn't work. I struggled to get started because some of the items in the directions did not show up on my computer.

If you let me know which ones, I will check them out. Sometimes it is a matter of district blocking them, but sometimes links change without warning. In that case, I can find a new link and update.

My high school class loves break out room activities.
Julia M.
I found this lesson to be super engaging! I would just clarify that a google account is required. After I figured that out, it was easy to follow.

Wonderful resource.

Can't wait to use this. My students love escape rooms.
Juanita C.
Good idea, but the links seem to be different.

The URL on the Battleship Row Google Sheet does not lead to a PDF. It goes here: https://www.nationalww2museum.org/war/articles/path-pearl-harbor which does not provide the needed information.

Sorry about that, it looks like they rewrote some of their web pages and changed the link. I have updated the link to a different site that does have the information.
Gina B.
Some of the links do not work.

If you can let me know which ones aren't working for you, I can take a look and update them. I try to keep them updated but sometimes they change and sometimes it's a matter of school software blocking sites. Update: The broken links have been replaced with new ones that work. They should all work for you now.

I can't wait to use this!

Thanks!

Unfortunately, one of the links didn't work. It was 'page not found'. and they struggled to find info on another one. We were able to problem solve and simply google the answers but it did cause the students to have a minor freak out :-)

Sorry to hear that...can you please tell me which link it was? I will replace it with an updated link so that it will work in the future. Thanks!
Natalie C.
This is an awesome resource! I had some difficulty (and that was all MY fault), emailed the seller over a weekend, and she responded to help. Appreciate that and cannot wait to use this!
Jamie G.
Thank you!

This was a lot of fun! The students really liked the challenge of it. My honors students did a lot better at it than my regular students. They had a harder time grasping the concept which was really good for them. It forced them to think instead of having the answers easily accessible in front of them.
Bethany N.
Thanks!
