Progressive Tense Verbs Digital Cloze Reading Passages for 4th Grade Grammar
(1 rating)$3.00
Add to cartThis no-prep digital Progressive Verbs grammar resource includes 10 different cloze reading passages with 9 unique progressive verbs per passage. Every passage is contained in its own Google Doc and includes 3 past progressive verbs, 3 present progressive verbs, and 3 future progressive verbs.
Because each passage is contained in its own Google Doc, assigning passages to students via Google Classroom or other platform is easy. Once the activity is open, students simply click on the drop down boxes to select the correct progressive verb based on the context of the sentence. Students can keep track of which verbs they have used by utilizing the checklist in the Word Bank. PDF answer key is included. Note: These are the same reading passages as this printable resource: Progressive Verb Cloze Reading Passages
To Use:
Select the reading passage you want your students to tackle.
If you use Google Classroom, assign the desired Google Doc to your students via an assignment in Google Classroom. Make sure you click to make a copy for each student. If you don't use Google Classroom, you can send your students the link to force a copy. This way each student has their own version of the activity and can work on it independently.
Students access their document, then use the drop down boxes to determine which progressive verb belongs in each area of the reading passage. Each passage includes 9 different progressive verbs.
To help kids keep track of the progressive verbs they have used, they can use the word bank to check off verbs as they use them.
How I Use This Resource:
I used this resource recently with my Writing Intervention class as a way to continue to practice progressive verbs. The kids said the interactive activity was fun. I loved that I could stand behind the kids and, because the answers are all in different colors, I could quickly see which students needed additional support to correct their answers. It allowed me to then pull specific students so I could teach another mini-lesson about this grammar skill.
I'd love to hear how you use this resource in your classroom! Feel free to email me at iteachiwrite@yahoo.com with any questions or suggestions you may have.

“I didn't see another resource like this, and I really like how it incorporates reading and progressive verbs. I ended up using only one passage and would have loved to see all the passages together in one single document, but I am sure I will most definitely use this in the future. Thank you!”
