Description

Daily Attendance Log • Automatic Attendance % • Chronic Absence Flags • Parent Contact Log • Editable Excel + Google Sheets

Log attendance once. Know who may need attention before patterns become persistent.

The Attendance Tracker turns daily marks into automatic percentages, status bands, and a class-wide overview — helping you spot attendance patterns quickly instead of waiting until the end of term.

Built for time-poor teachers, it uses light-yellow input cells, dropdown menus for status and absence reasons, and a dashboard that updates as you enter data.

Type a mark. Read the pattern.

What's Inside — 5 Ready-Made Tabs Tab What it does Attendance Log 200 rows for daily marks with Status dropdown (Present / Tardy / Excused Absence / Unexcused Absence) and an absence-reason dropdown Student Summary Up to 32 students with automatic days Present, Tardy, Excused & Unexcused, Total Days Logged, Attendance % and a Status band Parent Contact Log100 rows to record outreach to families: date, student, reason, contact method and outcome Dashboard Class attendance rate, students flagged for chronic absence, entries by status, absences by reason, and contacts by reason — with charts that update automatically How to Use Quick-start guide, mark-code legend, status-band thresholds, and usage tips

Attendance Status Bands

  • Good Standing — Attendance % of 95% or higher

  • Needs Watching — 90%–94.9%

  • Chronic Absence — below 90%

These bands are configurable and are intended as practical tracking thresholds. Schools and districts should follow their own attendance policies and applicable definitions.

Why Teachers & MTSS Teams Will Find It Useful

  • Automatic Attendance % — no manual math; each student's percentage and status band recalculates as you log attendance

  • Excused absences handled separately — excused absences remain visible in the record while the attendance calculation can be configured to exclude them

  • Instant status bands — conditional formatting shows Good Standing / Needs Watching / Chronic Absence as you enter data

  • Dropdown menus — consistent statuses and absence reasons help keep entries organized

  • Parent contact trail — record calls, messages, meetings, and outcomes in one place

  • MTSS / RTI ready — attendance patterns can support tiered intervention and attendance-review discussions

  • Protection built in — formulas and layout are locked; only designated input cells are editable

  • Excel + Google Sheets — choose the format that works best for your workflow

  • Sample data included — see how the tracker works before replacing the examples with your own student information
