Ocean Animals Science Task Cards – Habitats, Adaptations & Food Chains
Explore ocean animal science with this printable set of 24 illustrated task cards for children aged 5–7.
Children review how ocean animals breathe, move, find food, adapt to their environments and live in different marine habitats. The cards combine multiple-choice and true-or-false questions to support early science understanding, vocabulary and reasoning.
Each A4 page contains two large task cards with clear illustrations and readable text. Suitable for classroom science centres, small groups, partner activities, revision and home education.

HOW PUPILS RESPOND
For multiple-choice cards, pupils circle A, B or C on the recording sheet. For true-or-false cards, pupils circle TRUE or FALSE. Younger pupils may also answer orally, point to their chosen response or place a counter on the card.
The optional written-response sheets allow more independent pupils to record A, B, C, True or False on numbered lines.
LARGE-FORMAT DESIGN
These are intentionally larger than standard four-per-page task cards. Two cards are arranged on each A4 page so the text and illustrations remain clear for children aged 5–7. The larger size also makes the cards comfortable to hold, display and use during adult-led or small-group activities.
PRINTING INFORMATION
Print the full-colour cards for attractive classroom centres and laminated use, or choose the printer-friendly version to reduce ink use. The printer-friendly cards retain the animal illustrations while removing the full blue watercolour backgrounds.
Print at 100% or Actual Size for the intended large-card format. Colours may vary slightly according to printer and paper settings.
AGE AND GRADE GUIDANCE
Designed primarily for ages 5–7 and suitable for Kindergarten, 1st Grade and 2nd Grade learners. The cards may also support older pupils who benefit from clear visuals, short questions and reduced writing demands.
PLEASE NOTE
This is a printable PDF resource. No physical product will be posted. The task cards should be cut apart after printing. Laminating or printing on cardstock is optional but recommended for repeated classroom use.
