This resource includes 10 interactive Google Slides with movable Base 10 Blocks and video instructions for students. This resource can be easily assigned in Google Classroom for math stations, independent practice or distance learning. This activity is perfect for 2nd grade students learning addition with regrouping or for 3rd grade students who need a refresher before moving on to larger numbers.
Students will understand the meaning of Addition with Regrouping by using Base-10 blocks, and make connections to the traditional method for adding.
You do not need Google Classroom to use this resource, but you do need a Google e-mail to use Google Slides.

When I bought this I was hoping for the movable pieces of the ten blocks so that it can be more interactive for my students. It was only movable when its not in the presentation mode and it was a bit harder to move it bc the images size would be resize when they drag it. I tried uploading it to other platforms to make it easier but bc its a google slide the formatting is a bit tricky.

I love that these are self-checking! Some students are going to take advantage of that, but those are the same students who don’t try regardless or who use a calculator otherwise. Great for students who like to challenge themselves.

The video on the first slide was fantastic! Showing the movement of the tens and ones and then connecting it to the problem on the side was very helpful. I used this for independent work during online learning. It was great for the students to be able to be interactive with the slide by moving the base ten blocks. It really gave my students a visual of how the group of 10 ones become a 10 rod. It was also nice that it showed the basic regrouping strategy paired with the base ten blocks.
