  I utilized this resource while tutoring 4th-grade math students, and it proved to be both engaging and effective. The activity's real-world business scenarios captivated my students' interest, making the abstract concept of calculating profit more tangible and relatable. The inclusion of 24 task cards divided into four themed sets—such as "Profit at the Fiesta" and "Profit at the Market"—allowed for differentiation and kept the practice sessions fresh and varied.​ Teachers Pay Teachers Aligned with TEKS 4.4A and 4.10B, the tasks provided ample practice in adding and subtracting whole numbers and decimals to the hundredths place, as well as calculating profit in given situations. Additionally, a few problems included extra information that wasn't necessary for the calculation, potentially causing confusion for students still mastering the basics.​ Teachers Pay Teachers Overall, this resource is a valuable tool for reinforcing key financial literacy skills in a fun and interactive way. The included answer key was helpful for quick assessments, and the variety of scenarios kept students engaged throughout the tutoring sessions. I would recommend this activity to educators seeking to enhance their students' understanding of profit calculations within real-world contexts.
