Science Posters- The Periodic Table-Brown Corduroy Design
$5.00 (1)
Engage your students with this NO PREP, interactive chemistry cipher activity focused on the laws of thermodynamics, entropy, internal energy, and heat engine efficiency.
In this structured challenge, students solve clues by answering each question using the laws of thermodynamics, the first law equation ΔU = q - W, the entropy equation ΔS = qrev ÷ T for reversible heat transfer, or heat engine efficiency. They then round their answer and convert that number into a letter using the provided number-to-letter cipher. After answering all the questions, they will “crack the code” and reveal a hidden message.
Please have a look at the preview to see how it works.
My Promise to You
I know every classroom is different. If you purchase a resource and feel it is not the right fit for your students, contact me and I’ll provide 2x the amount you paid in store credit toward another resource in my store, so you can find something that better supports your students.
✅ NO PREP, NO MATERIALS, NO MARKING - Simply ready to use!
No materials, no setup, no stress. Just print or assign digitally and go.
What Students Will Learn
This cipher activity is also part of my Chemistry Concepts Cipher Puzzle Bundle where you can find all my physics calculation cipher activities at a significant discount.
This activity combines chemistry content, logic, and problem-solving into one engaging experience that students actually enjoy. Rather than simply memorizing thermodynamics rules, students actively apply their knowledge of internal energy, entropy, efficiency, and the laws of thermodynamics to solve problems. This activity reinforces key chemistry vocabulary, supports pattern recognition, and keeps students engaged through puzzle-based learning.
