Science Posters- The Periodic Table-Brown Corduroy Design
$5.00 (1)
Engage your students with this NO PREP, interactive chemistry cipher activity focused on the periodic table, element families, and atomic structure.
In this structured challenge, students use clues based on periodic table location, element properties, and real-world uses to identify 20 different elements. After solving each clue, they extract specific letters to uncover a hidden message.
Each clue points to an element—but only students who truly understand how the periodic table is organized will be able to crack the code. As students progress, they begin to see patterns and connections, ultimately revealing the hidden message.
✅ NO PREP, NO MATERIALS, NO MARKING - Simply ready to use!
No materials, no setup, no stress. Just print or assign digitally and go.
What Students Will Learn
This cipher activity is also part of my Chemistry Concepts Cipher Puzzle Bundlewhere you can find all my physics calculation cipher activities at a significant discount.

“Fun activity with the students. Always looking for different ways to engage.”
“We just so happened to be learning about code talkers in WWII, and my son is currently obsessed with the periodic table. The convergence was great! This project was completely self-directed, easy to understand, and added to his knowledge of the periodic table.”

For Artemis Missions Reading: From Apollo to Artemis to the Moon | Grade 8 & Up
Artemis had recently completed its mission when I was looking for engaging activities to fill post-assessment instructional time. This resource, combined with several activities I designed myself, helped provide meaningful learning opportunities for students during that period.

For Real World Ecology Decision Challenges Bundle | Ecosystems Activity
I have used some of these resources in the past. A great way to get the students thinking and questioning their own ideas. I cannot wait to incorporate more of these challenges into a variety of my courses.

For Artemis Missions, Moon Bases, and Future Space Colonization Unit Bundle
I like that this has a variety of topics and ways of covering the material. This was a great resource to flesh out my space exploration unit and allow for some "real" work for days when I had a sub planned. The kids were able to keep on track with our unit without losing a day to "busy work". Great material to work with.

For Periodic Table Elements Cipher Puzzle - Physical Science Activity | Atoms
I used this with my 8th graders to do a bit of chemistry/Periodic Table review before their state testing and to refresh their memories about the Periodic Table as they will have physical science next year. It has good questions that really made kids look closely at the Periodic table. Thank you.
