Description

Introduce students to the concept of telling time with this multi-product BUNDLE! Includes:

  • printable clocks in color AND black and white

  • four student practice pages matching times to the hour and half-hour

  • a 17-page instructional slide deck

  • a set of 48 memory game cards

  • 24 “I Have, Who Has?” cards

  • two BONUS posters not available anywhere else except as part of this bundle!

Get ready for the activity by printing a clock for each student (in color or black and white), then help them assemble the faces, hour hands and minute hands by securing them with a brad. Cut out and laminate the components ahead of time for extra durability. Use the slide deck to walk students through the concept of telling time to the hour and half hour, then let them demonstrate their understanding on the four practice pages by matching times shown on a digital clock with their corresponding representations on an analog clock face. This bundle is all you’ll need in order to teach the difference between the hour and the half-hour by allowing students to manipulate their very own analog clocks, and give students hands-on practice with Common Core measurement and data standards. Great for whole- or small-group instruction, math centers or individual practice, this resource includes a 17-page slide deck for teaching the concept, printable analog clocks in both color and black and white, plus four pages of worksheet practice including answer keys.

Once you’ve taught the concept, let your students show off their new understanding of telling time to the hour and half-hour in the “concentration” style memory game. Students will match a time shown on a digital clock with its representation on an analog clock face. This activity will help clear up the difference between the hour and the half-hour in a fun, low stress game, and give students practice with Common Core measurement and data standards. Great for math centers or small group practice, this resource includes 48 total cards: the full set of 24 analog clocks and their digital clock matches in an easy-to-separate format, getting you up and running quickly.

Move students beyond the abstract by giving them a hands-on way to learn the concept of telling time with these manipulatives. The practice pages can also be used as a pre-assessment in second grade before teaching the concept of telling time to the quarter hour. Concepts covered include recognizing time displayed on both analog and digital clocks to the hour and half-hour.

The 17-page slide presentation is a perfect complement to this activity and makes teaching this concept easy with visuals matching the student manipulatives. The slide deck begins with stated learning outcomes, then walks your learners step-by-step through the teaching of the concept as they follow along and complete the activity.

Memory games are popular with students and allow them to work at their own pace in a relaxed environment during independent work time, after testing, or in the classroom as a warm-up. This activity can also be used as a pre-assessment in second grade before teaching the concept of telling time to the quarter hour. “I Have… Who Has?” can be played anywhere, while waiting in line in the hallway, on the bus while headed to a field trip, or in the classroom as a warm-up. Concepts covered include recognizing time displayed on both analog and digital clocks to the hour and half-hour.

Visually demonstrates and gives students practice with the concepts in CCSS 1.MD.B.3, but can be used to reteach and remediate in other grades or situations, like special education classrooms. Full worksheet answer keys included. Error-free money-back guarantee!

Meet the Seller

High-engagement resources your students will love!

I designed my store to save time for other educators, especially special education teachers working with students in small groups or one-on-one. I love engaging students with games and hands-on activities, and I have a special passion for math, coding and robotics. Unless otherwise noted, I create all my own clip art, layouts, copy and other content. If a font I use isn't credited, it's either a Google font, freeware, or a typeface I picked up from a professional foundry. Thanks for giving my products a try.
