Description

Help students develop their ability to factor trinomials with this scaffolded card sort activity. This assignment helps students recognize special case factors for trinomials, including squaring a binomial and a difference of squares, as well as other simple examples where a = 1. Students match factors from the top of the sheet with their products on the bottom, and the corresponding card sort activity sets them up for success because the solution will be in a rectangle shape. Anchor charts included which explain how to multiply binomials using the FOIL method and box method, as well as examples for squaring a binomial and a difference of squares. Aligns with Common Core State Math Standards A-APR.1, A-REI.1b, A-SSE.3a and F-IF.8a. Full key included.

Meet the Seller

High-engagement resources your students will love!

I designed my store to save time for other educators, especially special education teachers working with students in small groups or one-on-one. I love engaging students with games and hands-on activities, and I have a special passion for math, coding and robotics. Unless otherwise noted, I create all my own clip art, layouts, copy and other content. If a font I use isn't credited, it's either a Google font, freeware, or a typeface I picked up from a professional foundry. Thanks for giving my products a try.
