It can be used with any coloring medium, but we think watercolors work out best.

How to make this bug craft:

You will need the printed template, scissors, glue, coloring supplies (crayons, markers, watercolors... anything really), and an optional (but recommended as the end results are really worth it) sheet of black paper per student.

Have the kids color in the template first. Once colored, let them cut out all the pieces.

Glue the hexagons on black paper to make the honeycomb. Make the bee bodies (glue the ends together to make the paper roll) and stick a pair of wings on each bee. Glue the bees on the honeycombs.
