Beginning French Christmas Comprehensible Input Lesson Noël reading & activities
(7 ratings)$3.75
Add to cartDescription
This winter French Christmas lesson plan will let you use CI to teach about Christmas in France.
Comprehensible input is important in a world languages class - but you can't always do stories. This is a lesson that uses target structures in a comprehensible way to teach about a non-fiction topic - how France celebrates the Christmas season. The text is appropriate for 2nd semester French and later.
The target structures are:
- les enfants
- les cadeaux
- décoré
- on mange
The lesson includes:
• an editable 18-slide powerpoint with repetition of the target vocabulary
• a text version of the powerpoint
• comprehension questions in both French and English
• a story retell sheet with photos - one for writing, one for oral retell
• a list of associated videos in both English and French
• a complete answer key

For Les Animaux Reading Comprehension: 10 A2 French Animal Passages
October 10, 2026I left this as a packet for level 2 students in addition to other work when I was out for a few days due to surgery. I offered a few bonus points if they selected 2-3 readings to keep them busy when everything else was turned in. They loved learning about animals and many students who didn't have time while I was out chose to complete the entire packet on their own time for fun once I was back.

For Impressionism Digital Escape Room | High School Art / French Games
September 13, 2026I have spent the afternoon trying out this escape room for myself. First I tried the French version. Without the resource telling me what they codes were, I never would have figured it out. Knowing the code, I continued to work with the resource to figure it out. But honestly, this escape room needs a lot of work to be a go in my classroom. I was very disappointed. I would suggest that each lock have a direct question that the students would be looking for. I then decided, why not try the English version and see if this might work better for my students. While it is better, the direct questions are still missing and I think I would have to give a lot of hints and directions. The worst page is the Musée D'Orsay page. I literally had to copy the picture and put it into chat gpt to figure out what this wanted. More details are necessary because students would not be prepared for this.
Reply from Frenchified
Sorry to hear about your difficulties. A direct question and answer would defeat the purpose of an escape room activity - the activity is supposed to be challenging and force the students to read the clues very carefully, looking for anything that might seem out of place. I have requested that TPT refund your purchase.

September 10, 2026I needed something a little longer than the original worksheet I purchased somewhere else. This keeps them busy but also engaged. I like how the vocabulary practice for the episode is repetitive, but it also gives many choices of activities to choose from. We usually save one of the fun ones at the end for a timed competition.

For Intermediate French past tense reading Imparfait/Passé Composé Sidney Crosby
August 10, 2026This reading activity was a great way to practise l’imparfait et le passé composé in a meaningful and engaging context. Using Sidney Crosby as the topic was especially effective for connecting French grammar practice to something students found interesting and relatable. The reading provided natural opportunities for students to identify and distinguish between the two past tenses while building comprehension skills. A well-designed resource that made grammar practice much more engaging for my students!

- Nobody ever notices the French teacher to give them awards for anything! My students, my family and my mom like me - is that enough? Oh, and my beer league hockey team won the championship several years ago.
