Beginning French food vocabulary practice game café activity au restaurant
(6 ratings)$3.75
Add to cartYour students will enjoy practicing food and café vocabulary in this French food game! As they complete the tasks, they will gather the ingredients to make a special dish. The game is self-grading and students will need to get all of the answers correct in order to move on.
There are 5 different challenges. Two of the challenges are simpler - basic vocabulary matching of words that you are likely to see on a menu at a French café. The other three challenges are a bit more challenging - two of them will have students forming sentences and the final challenge is a dialog between and a waiter and a customer with missing words.
At the end of the game, the students will have 5 ingredients. They will put those ingredients in a pan to find out what they make. As the game does not track student data, you will want them to take a screenshot as proof of completion.

I bought it for my grade 9 A1-A2 French students as we are doing a food unit and I think that the product is labeled for the wrong age group and timeframe. The majority of my students finished the escape room today in 7-10 minutes, which was a big shock. It was advertised to take 45 minutes so I was really counting on this to hold my students over on a day that I was not feeling well enough to teach. I would suggest adding more difficult challenges as this is too easy for high school students. On the other hand, I love the concept of this resource and appreciate the time that the creator put into making it. It was also easy to access and assign to students.

I'm so sorry that this didn't meet your needs. I think A2 may be a bit too advanced for this activity - it's for the very beginning (A0) French students, so I agree that it would not take someone who is at an A1-A2 level very long to do. I would be happy to offer you a refund if you would like one, please email me directly at Heather@frenchified.com.
