Looking for a French back to school game that works with every proficiency level? This Soup Salad Sandwich game is a fun, low-prep French icebreaker featuring 35 foods from around the Francophone world. Students decide whether each food is a soupe, salade ou sandwich, then discuss, defend, write about, or physically show their choices. Even students who do not speak French yet can participate successfully.
Each slide features the name of a food, a large photograph, and the three category choices: soupe, salade and sandwich. There is no single correct way to categorize every food—the discussion, debate, and justification are what make the activity engaging.
Use this French category game to help students feel comfortable expressing opinions, listening to classmates, and taking risks in your classroom. Students can participate by pointing or moving at first, then progress to speaking and writing as appropriate for their level.
WAYS TO PLAY
• Project the slideshow and have students call out or show their choices
• Give students printable category signs to hold up
• Use the signs for a four-corners-style movement activity
• Ask students to categorize the foods on paper

For Claude Monet French Reading Comprehension Activities Impressionism
My students were familiar with Claude Monet's work but didn't know much about his life, so this was useful info not in our textbook. I appreciated having the differentiated versions.

For French Reflexive Verbs | Grammar Lesson, Readings & Worksheets
Great way to use history to review reflexive verbs while not just focusing on daily routine - which let's be honest, is boring. Who talks about their daily routine on a regular basis? No one.

For Les Animaux Reading Comprehension: 10 A2 French Animal Passages
I left this as a packet for level 2 students in addition to other work when I was out for a few days due to surgery. I offered a few bonus points if they selected 2-3 readings to keep them busy when everything else was turned in. They loved learning about animals and many students who didn't have time while I was out chose to complete the entire packet on their own time for fun once I was back.

Thank you for letting me know about the missing link - I've updated the image and it should be working now. You may have to F5/refresh to get the link to show properly (it covers the body of the statue).
