Description

Review French clothing vocabulary with a digital escape room that combines reading, a shopping video, and code-breaking puzzles. In Trouvez l'Espion, students solve clues to open a spy's briefcase. Includes website access, a teacher guide, and an answer key. Students need access to Google Sites, Google Forms, YouTube, and Jigsawplanet.com; check that all four are accessible on your school network before purchasing.

Important technology requirements

This game is played online. Students must be able to access:

  • Google Sites
  • Google Forms
  • YouTube
  • Jigsawplanet.com

Check access using the devices and student accounts your class will use. School filtering may differ between teacher and student accounts. Test the game before your lesson to check that the required content opens.

Clothing practice in French

Students work through clothing-related clues and activities as they search for the codes. Tasks include:

  • Comparing a clothing vocabulary list with an image
  • Reading descriptions of people and matching what they are wearing to a photo
  • Unscrambling clothing items on a store receipt
  • Watching a video of a man buying clothes and answering questions
  • Reading a newspaper advice column about clothing

The activities ask students to use vocabulary in descriptions, shopping situations, and written clues.

The mission: Trouvez l'Espion

A spy has been detected, and the DGSE has recovered his briefcase. Inside is information about his mission and next destination—but opening it without the codes will trigger its self-destruct mechanism.

Students must solve the puzzles and find the codes to open the briefcase.

What’s included

  • Access to the website where students play the game
  • A complete teacher guide
  • An answer key to help you support students when they get stuck

Using the game in class

Use this Frenchified escape room to practice or review clothing vocabulary. After checking access and reviewing the teacher guide, share the game website URL with your students.

Some clues may be challenging. Use the answer key to offer hints and guide students toward a solution. If time is limited, you can provide selected answers so students have fewer codes to solve independently.
