Help students practice French direct and indirect object pronouns with a competitive, fully editable PowerPoint review game. Students determine whether a sentence contains a direct or indirect object, replace it with the correct pronoun, and use proper pronoun placement. The game includes practice with le, la, l’, les, lui, and leur.
FRENCH OBJECT PRONOUNS PRACTICED
Direct object pronouns:
• le
• la
• l’
• les
Indirect object pronouns:
• lui
• leur
HOW THE “IT’S NOT FAIR” GAME WORKS
Divide the class into teams and project the PowerPoint game board. Teams choose questions and replace the direct or indirect object in each sentence with the correct French object pronoun.
After answering correctly, the team must decide whether to keep the points or give them to another team—but they will not know the point value until after making their decision.
The unpredictable scoring keeps every team involved, even when one group answers more questions correctly than the others.

“I had a hard time with this game, even though it is plain from the title that it is unfair! LOL! But it was fun to have students get a correct answer and lose points, and they didn't seem to mind too much. It was a nice change of pace.”
“My students truly love these games. They are engaged. They work well as warm-ups or review too.”
