Description

This intermediate French reading comprehension activity will teach your students about the harvest of chocolate and the issues around it. Chocolate is delicious, but is the chocolate you buy contributing to the problem of child labor and slavery? Learn about this issue and what you can do about it in this article.

It is suitable for novice-high/intermediate-low students with teacher guidance and higher-level students to work independently.  If you teach AP French, this reading can be useful in giving your students practice reading nonfiction articles for the interpretive section of the test.  The reading can lead to discussion or writing activities to include the other two modes of communication.

Teacher reviews

“Love your reading comprehension activities! Merci!”
Andy G.
“These resources are culturally perfect for me! While some of them are a bit of a more difficult read for my 5th graders, I am still able to use them. The vocabulary is rich, and most of all, the subjects are different from any other texts I have encountered so far! Love them!”
Nelly L.
