Add to cartPractice French school supplies vocabulary with a digital picture puzzle for Google Slides or PowerPoint. Students match English words to French terms and move tiles to assemble a school-themed image. The picture provides a visual check: correct matches create the intended image, while incorrect matches disrupt it. Use this les fournitures scolaires activity to combine vocabulary matching with a picture-building task.
Match the vocabulary and build the picture
Students match English school-supply words with their French equivalents. As they move the tiles into place, the school-themed picture comes together.
The activity gives students a visible result to check as they practice the vocabulary.
Visual feedback during practice
Correct matches produce the intended picture. If the picture does not come together correctly, students have a visual cue to revisit their matches.
The image also makes it easier for you to check the result at a glance.

A different way to review les fournitures scolaires
Use the puzzle when students are practicing or reviewing French school supplies vocabulary.
Students work with English-to-French word matches while arranging the picture tiles. This is vocabulary recognition and matching practice, rather than a typing or spelling activity.
The checking method is visual: the completed picture helps indicate whether the matches are correct.

So many of my students are visual learners and these puzzles keep students engaged on the vocabulary in a meaningful way. I love that there are no bells or whistles for getting something wrong and the images allow students to self-correct as they work through the puzzle. It is a very low anxiety and enjoyable way for students to work with the vocabulary. When I was little (you know, back when the earth was cooling), we learned vocabulary by writing it over and over again. Now, we do not use such embodied ways of memorization and activities like this serve a similar purpose in a way that supports students of many levels and abilities. I highly recommend this puzzle activity.
