This winter French reading comprehension activity will entertain your students while teaching them about French culture and the holiday season. It is suitable for novice-high/intermediate-low students with teacher guidance and higher level students to work independently. Père Fouettard is tired of always being the bad guy. So this year he makes a deal - HE will be delivering the presents and getting to be part of the joy of the season! What could possibly go wrong? It turns out, quite a bit! Kids are scared, nobody trusts the new guy, and nobody is quite sure exactly how the presents will get delivered.

For Impressionism Digital Escape Room | High School Art / French Games
September 13, 2026I have spent the afternoon trying out this escape room for myself. First I tried the French version. Without the resource telling me what they codes were, I never would have figured it out. Knowing the code, I continued to work with the resource to figure it out. But honestly, this escape room needs a lot of work to be a go in my classroom. I was very disappointed. I would suggest that each lock have a direct question that the students would be looking for. I then decided, why not try the English version and see if this might work better for my students. While it is better, the direct questions are still missing and I think I would have to give a lot of hints and directions. The worst page is the Musée D'Orsay page. I literally had to copy the picture and put it into chat gpt to figure out what this wanted. More details are necessary because students would not be prepared for this.

Sorry to hear about your difficulties. A direct question and answer would defeat the purpose of an escape room activity - the activity is supposed to be challenging and force the students to read the clues very carefully, looking for anything that might seem out of place. I have requested that TPT refund your purchase.
