Starting with a note section was great because my students filled that space during my direct teaching and then could reference those during their independent work. The puzzles were a fun twist to basic practice! The review and extend sections weren't my favorite though as they limit the students a bit. Many of my kiddos prefer linear models to area models and the review page doesn't lend itself to that strategy.
