Natural Disaster Simulation Activity Severe Weather Safety Game Grades 4-7
$6.99
This complete unit is designed to compliment the recent unit rolled out by NSW Education Department 2025. It is based on the unit of work Stage 3 Unit 3 Electrical Circuits
The learning outcomes of this unit are
16 lessons plus 4 hours of additional/optional content. (1 term's work)
This unit teaches students to investigate electrical circuits and how electrical energy can be transferred and transformed. They pose questions and test materials as conductors or insulators. Students design and build a quiz game on electrical safety, based on data gathered around user needs. These game prototypes are evaluated and modified against generated design criteria including criteria that supports the sustainable use of materials. Students connect components in a digital system to create and code a conductivity tester.
· ST3-SCI-01 uses evidence to explain how scientific knowledge can be used to develop sustainable practices
· ST3-PQU-01 poses questions to identify variables and conducts fair tests to gather data
· ST3-DAT-01 interprets data to support explanations and arguments
· ST3-DDT-01 uses design processes to create, evaluate and modify designed solutions
· ST3-DDT-02 creates, evaluates and modifies algorithms to code or control digital devices and systems
· ST3-CWT-01 creates written texts to communicate understanding of scientific and technological concepts and processes

Important note
The font which has been used in this presentation is the Google font Edu NSW ACT foundation which needs to be downloaded onto your computer (this can be done by clicking on the blue link provided). You must restart your device once installed and all of the formatting will be correctly in place. This step is VERY important otherwise your units will be misaligned.
This is a comprehensive unit which will save you hours and hours of preparation time. It is important at the start of each lesson that you read the teaching notes as there is some Lesson preparation needed for some lessons. These include printing sets of cards in some lessons, printing worksheets for assessment purposes so that work samples are available for each child.
