Experience

I hold a bachelor’s degree and have spent over 10 years teaching children in a variety of settings. With training in the Orton-Gillingham approach and a strong foundation in the Science of Reading, I focus on helping students build real, lasting reading skills.

I’ve worked closely with homeschool families and hybrid programs, creating hands-on, flexible resources that meet learners where they are and help them grow with confidence.

As a homeschooling mom myself, I design everything with both the parent and teacher in mind: simple to use, engaging for kids, and focused on what truly works. LTL-8K9KJVWK

Teaching style

My teaching style is fun, interactive, and hands-on. I believe children learn best when they are actively involved, so I design lessons that invite participation, movement, and exploration. When students engage with the material in meaningful ways, learning becomes both effective and enjoyable.

Education

I hold a bachelor’s degree from Liberty University and have completed training in the Orton-Gillingham approach to reading instruction. In addition to my formal education, I bring years of hands-on experience serving in children’s ministry, homeschooling my children, and teaching and tutoring!

Hi! I’m Kristen, the educator and creator behind Step Strong Learning Co.! I’m a homeschool mom, online teacher, and children’s ministry leader with about 10 years of teaching experience across elementary and middle school ages.

I have a bachelor’s degree in Education with a minor in Child Psychology, a 120-hour TESOL certification, and additional training in structured literacy. My experience includes classroom teaching, teaching English language learners, homeschooling my own children, and leading children’s ministry alongside my husband, Michael.

I love creating activities that make kids curious and excited to learn! In my store, you’ll find reading comprehension, phonics, math games, science and history activities, building challenges, and KJV Bible lessons. My resources combine meaningful practice with stories, games, and hands-on fun.

My goal is to provide affordable, easy-to-use resources that help teachers, families, and churches spend less time preparing and more time connecting with the children they teach.
