Description

These three climate change and long-term weather data graphing activities that will help your students understand climate change while building graphing and data analysis skills. This bundle gives teachers an easy, NO PREP way to have students work with real-world environmental data to explore how Earth’s climate shift impacts Global Temperatures, Arctic Ice & Sea Levels, and Extreme Weather events.

There are 3 Graphing Lab Included:

1. Global Temperature Trends Investigation

2. The Arctic Ice & Sea Level Rise Investigation

3. Extreme Weather Patterns Investigation

My Promise to You

I know every classroom is different. If you purchase a resource and feel it is not the right fit for your students, contact me and I’ll provide 2x the amount you paid in store credit toward another resource in my store, so you can find something that better supports your students.

Students analyze real climate datasets related to global temperature anomalies, atmospheric carbon dioxide levels, Arctic sea ice extent, global sea level rise, hurricane frequency, and wildfire acreage. They then create a variety of graph types from data tables before using their graphs to identify patterns, analyze long-term trends, and explain climate change using evidence. Each activity includes a complete answer key with the required graphs if you need to differentiate for different ability levels.

How It Works

Students use provided real-world data tables to:

  • Create multiple types of graphs (line graphs, bar graphs, and scatter plots)
  • Identify long-term climate patterns and trends
  • Compare relationships between variables such as temperature and CO₂
  • Analyze how warming temperatures influence Arctic ice and sea levels
  • Explore how rising temperatures relate to extreme weather patterns
  • Use evidence from graphs to answer discussion questions about climate change

Each activity moves students from reading data → graphing data → interpreting patterns → explaining long-term climate processes.

This graphing bundle is also included inside my High School Science Graphing & Data Analysis Mega Bundle at a significant discount. The bundle contains graphing activities for grades 9-12 science topics in biological and physical sciences as well as specific subjects like chemistry, physics, and biology.
