The lesson starts by describing forces and net force. It then covers each law while providing simple, practical examples of each along with simulation activities that are built right into your lesson. Your students will utilize the simulations to see the laws in action as well as answer questions about them. These can be done individually, in small groups, or as a class activity.
NGSS: The material is all explained at the appropriate level using simplified terminology and examples. The emphasis is on the main ideas of the laws using diagrams and simulations. It does not utilize math to quantify results or answer calculation questions.
The lesson content includes:
Included in the lesson package:
The student version of the presentation contains multiple blanks that need to be filled in throughout the lesson. These blanks are conveniently underlined and bolded on the teacher copy. I have found this to be the most effective means of keeping my students engaged and active without having them write everything out. This also leaves more time for discussion and activities.
