Description

Teach reading comprehension and writing with this 5W 1H Handy Hand graphic organizer—a multisensory, kinesthetic strategy for planning, retelling, and organizing ideas.

Your HAND is so HANDY! 🖐️
This simple yet powerful 5W and 1H graphic organizer gives students a lifelong, multisensory framework for thinking, remembering, explaining, and organizing ideas—for reading, writing, and speaking.

The Handy Hand uses a kinesthetic, tactile approach by mapping Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How directly onto the hand. This makes abstract language concepts concrete, visual, and easy to internalize.

🌈 Designed for Dyslexia & ADHD Support

The Handy Hand uses multisensory, structured design to reduce cognitive load and support:

  • Working memory & processing speed

  • Visual-spatial organization

  • Language retrieval & sequencing

  • Attention, engagement, and follow-through

This organizer aligns well with structured literacy, Science of Reading, and neurodiversity-affirming classrooms.

Perfect for Science of Reading–aligned instruction, structured literacy, and explicit comprehension teaching.

Meet the Seller

Structured literacy to keep learners curious.

Hi friends! I am a Bay-area-based Educational Therapist in private practice and an author-creator. Having worked in private and public schools, I love to support teachers, families, and educational teams as well as my learners. My students range from pre-K to freshman in high school, and I love every age and phase. Teaching literacy is my passion and vocation. Hoping to change the world one reader at a time! Everyone has a right to have access to being a reader and writer and have it open the doors of their curiosity and careers. I feel privileged to have the trust and partnership with families and teachers, as well as the relationship with my learners, to help them turn around their learning struggle into a more confident experience of success. Plus, I am on the parent's view of the educational journey with 2 wonderful teens of my own. I love to draw silly cute characters, try out watercolor, be in nature, travel with family, and care for my three rescue pups. Thanks for reading and considering my materials!
