The Persuasive Writing Holidays lesson is a fun activity for students to practice persuasive writing and introduce ethos, pathos, and logos. In the lesson, Persuasive Writing Holidays students will do a persuasive writing about the holidays in paragraph or multiple paragraphs.
Before students start writing there is an interactive notebook component for students to take notes on ethos, pathos, and logos and analyze an example. After note-taking and analyzing students will plan writing using a graphic organizer for topic sentence/claim, each mode of persuasion, and a conclusion.
For added fun students can make gingerbread people or even a surprise present, depending on the topic of the writing, I often have my students take the time to be creative.
