Designed to help novice learners build confidence through meaningful communication, the curriculum provides everything needed to guide students through the first stages of language acquisition while reducing teacher planning time. Whether you're teaching a full-year French 1 course or using individual units, these lessons are organized to support reading, listening, speaking, writing, and vocabulary development through comprehensible input.
This resource is ideal if:
These units are the perfect complement to a district curriculum or textbook - they cover the typical vocabulary and grammar taught in the first semester of French 1, but with a more communicated approach. Work through the unit with circling and repetition and at the end of each unit, your students will be amazed at how much they can do with the language!
Here's what you'll get in each unit:
Your students will pick up the language as they work through the unit. With a combination of the daily PowerPoint to allow for circling and repetition and the activities to give students using the language in a real-life way, you will be amazed at how much they can do by the end of the unit! Each unit has a full set of lesson plans that will take you through everything students need to know in order to read the unit story at the end.
There are 8 units for levels 1 and 2 French. If you would like to see what vocabulary is included in each unit, please visit http://bit.ly/2Sg3tLK.
BONUS!
When you purchase levels 1-4 as a bundle, you will also receive all 4 review escape games. The games go over the same vocabulary and topics as the units, with a plot based on the unit stories. You can see the games here:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Sara L. says “I've been wanting to take the CI plunge and this resource did it for me! I experimented with 7th graders who have French for only 9 weeks and my level I 8th graders. I wasn't sure how the 7th graders would react but they LOVED it! I followed the resource almost exactly although I did need to spread the days out a bit. I was amazed at what students could DO at the conclusion of the unit. This did it for me, I have purchased the following units from Frenchified and am now a fan of CI! “
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Mme CC says “This resource is quite the gem. It has everything you need. I love the amount of prepared comprehensible input we have! My district textbook claims to be CI based, but there isn't nearly enough input provided. As a busy teacher, I needed something with input and output tasks ready to go and this has it all! Thank you so much! I look forward to using the other units!”
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Hannah H says “I liked all the repetition, and I purchased another of these packs. My students like the pictures, and recognized most of the famous people used in the PowerPoint. I love how the PowerPoint was in Word, I was able to turn it into google slides (we use Schoology, and it takes Google Docs) with no problem. Great resource! It also comes with worksheets and some graphic organizers. Love all those things. “
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Mlle D says “Another fantastic resource that proved to be versatile and well worth the money. It was so easy to pick and choose activities to include during distance learning. I love the consistency with your units and how well laid out and organized they are. “

This is a great resource for teachers who are required to follow a textbook but want to incorporate more CI strategies or teachers who are just starting with CI and need some structure. I appreciate that everything is ready to go and I think there's a good mix of activities. There is definitely room for creativity and expansion if you want to add some different activities or do something different with the stories but it doesn't require any extra work on the teacher's part if not. My students liked the stories...they found them interesting and engaging without being to bizarre. I also appreciate the cultural info throughout the lessons. Merci for a great resource!

These units are such a great base as I move away from textbook teaching. Knowing that I have some CI resources to rely on make planning a bit less stressful. The students are enjoying the work as well. I am thrilled with these lessons and hope to see more levels in the future.

I have been nervous about making the move to CI for many reasons, having taught for 22 years now. These units are so well-organized and engaging for the students. It makes it easy on me as the teacher to learn as I go. The kids like the stories! The weaker students feel confident because they finally can "get it" thanks to multiple repetition and cognate recognition. There are plenty of extension and enrichment ideas for the higher-level kids. I cannot speak highly enough about these resources. Don't hesitate to purchase!

My students were really engaged with the activities I chose to include into our curriculum from this resource. My main goal was in providing more input during target language specific instruction. This download helped me to achieve that and I very much appreciated the extra time I had to complete other tasks. Merci beaucoup!

Great resource to guide students through learning French using CI.

I initially purchased just unit 1 on its own to try it out. I LOVED teaching it and the students were very engaged. I came back to purchase this bundle AND the 5-8 bundle and can't wait to use it with our lessons this year. (Go ahead and do what I did if you wanna see if it works for you; TPT refunded me for my previous transaction of unit 1 after purchasing this bundle upon opening a ticket.) HIGHLY recommend for older learners who are new to French!
