ES1 kinder UNIT 3 NSW PDHPE Complete Unit-All 16 lessons and Optional Activities
Syllabus focus areas:
This comprehensive and complete unit helps young learners build the knowledge and confidence to stay safe in everyday situations. Students learn to recognise body signals that indicate safe and unsafe situations, understand the concept of privacy, and identify trusted adults who can help keep them safe. Through practical, engaging learning experiences, students explore respectful relationships, practise asking for permission and giving consent in everyday situations, and develop safe behaviours both online and offline.
In Physical Education, students develop their side gallop, skipping and overarm throwing skills through fun, inclusive games and movement challenges that encourage participation, cooperation, confidence and fair play. Throughout the unit, students are supported to make safe choices, work respectfully with others and develop skills that promote their health, wellbeing and active participation.
The PDHPE K–6 units are designed as a 16-lesson sequence, comprising of 8 PDH lessons and 8 PE lessons, with 4 optional consolidation lessons. The lessons are written in sequence to show the flow of learning and the building of concepts across lessons. To implement the syllabus and meet teaching requirements, teachers are expected to teach one PDH and one PE lesson each week.
Duration: 8 weeks + 2 weeks optional consolidation (16-lesson sequence, comprising of 8 PDH lessons and 8 PE lessons, with 4 optional consolidation lessons.)

This comprehensive unit has been thoughtfully designed to minimise your planning time while delivering high-quality, engaging learning experiences aligned with the NSW syllabus.
Before teaching each lesson, we recommend reading the accompanying teaching notes. The font which has been used in this presentation is the Google font Edu NSW ACT foundation which needs to be downloaded onto your computer (this can be done by clicking on the blue link provided). You must restart your device once installed and all of the formatting will be correctly in place. This step is VERY important otherwise your units will be misaligned.
