Engaging digital resource to review key terms related to poetry at the high school level — with a code-breaking twist! Plus, it grades itself!
Do you want to review English Language Arts concepts in a creative, engaging way? Do you want to infuse fun and novelty into the classroom while working on test prep? Do you need a simple sub plan? Have you been dreaming of the day when student work would magically grade itself? This activity was made for YOU!
Students will read 12 definitions and match them with the corresponding poetry-related key term (a word bank is included). With each correct answer, a piece of the decoder image will appear. Finally, they will use the decoder to uncover a secret code and answer a riddle! Students will be motivated to solve the puzzle while learning along the way! Our Poetry Key Terms Digital Decoder is gamification at its finest.

For Calculating Hourly Wages and Overtime Pay Pixel Art
October 15, 2026While I absolutely enjoy this resource, I had some initial difficulty getting my students to actually be able to work on it individually. First, it is online only through google slides; so, I made a copy as instructed. However, the mistake I made was sharing that copy with all of my students. When they accessed it, they were all editing the same copy. I had to make a copy for each of my students and share it with them individually. Second, I had to give each student editor permission (I only missed this step twice). That being said I do love the resource as it self-checks, enabling students to get a 100% and complete the picture. I plan to us it again.

Typically, once you create your own copy, we recommend sharing that through your schools Learning Management system and then there is typically a spot to click that creates individual copies for students. For Intro to the Executive Branch - Digital Resource Activity for Gov & Civics
March 17, 2026Solid resource that introduces students to the executive branch, however, the secret code was screwed up and ended up not making sense, 2 numbers needed to be changed for it to make sense. Highly suggest modeling the first two answers or so for students because it can be a bit confusing at first.

For Aquatic Biomes Reading Passage and Pixel Art Activity
March 16, 2026My students enjoyed this activity. However, many were frustrated when "intertidal" would not work for the answer to question #8. Looking at the answer key it was misspelled in the Google Sheets file as "intertidel" and I am not able to correct it.
