Description

Sugar SkullSymmetry Coloring Book:Integrate this booklet with Day of the Dead, or El Día de los Muertos a fun activity for Halloween and throughout the year!

This fun set not only gives you and/or your students a chance to color, but it also gives the challenge of finishing the outline of the intricate design themselves.

How to use this resource?

Students can use mirrors to help them to see the final image! The opportunity is there to copy from both the left and the right side of the image.... fun challenge to test symmetry skills!

Finishing off

Once completed the outline, encourage your students to examine the color wheel to use complimentary, analagous, warm or cool colors for a different effect for each one. Use this as a research opportunity to explore the color palettes most widely used to complete these images.

An extra fun activity for older students is to see the history of Sugar Skulls and tattoos which have become increasingly popular.

Teaching across a wide range of year levels, including multigrade classrooms, has taught me the importance of adapting lessons so every student can participate, feel supported and make progress. That experience guides the way I plan lessons and create resources. My experience includes: - Teaching multigrade K–2 and Years 3–6 classes - Working as a Reading Recovery, RFF and Learning Support teacher - Creating courses for the ClassCover Relief Teaching Association - Writing units of work for Inquisitive - Working as a unit writer and Learning Support teacher for NSW Distance Education These roles have given me a practical understanding of what students need to learn—and what teachers need to help them succeed.
