Solving Equations with Variables on Both Sides – Christmas Color-by-Code Activity
Looking for a no-prep, high-engagement Christmas math activity to help your middle school or Algebra 1 students practice solving equations with variables on both sides? This festive Solving Equations coloring practice reinforces essential equation-solving skills while giving students a creative, low-stress task during December. Perfect for 7th Grade Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, station rotations, early finishers, review days, or a sub plan!
Students solve 10 equations with variables on both sides. After solving each equation, students match the correct solution to the color code and color the corresponding section of the Christmas design. The color-by-code structure provides built-in self-checking and keeps students focused during a busy time of year. Three coloring page options allow students to choose their preferred level of detail and provide student choice without sacrificing skill practice. Answer keys are included for easy grading or student self-assessment.

For Calculating Hourly Wages and Overtime Pay Pixel Art
October 15, 2026While I absolutely enjoy this resource, I had some initial difficulty getting my students to actually be able to work on it individually. First, it is online only through google slides; so, I made a copy as instructed. However, the mistake I made was sharing that copy with all of my students. When they accessed it, they were all editing the same copy. I had to make a copy for each of my students and share it with them individually. Second, I had to give each student editor permission (I only missed this step twice). That being said I do love the resource as it self-checks, enabling students to get a 100% and complete the picture. I plan to us it again.

March 17, 2026Solid resource that introduces students to the executive branch, however, the secret code was screwed up and ended up not making sense, 2 numbers needed to be changed for it to make sense. Highly suggest modeling the first two answers or so for students because it can be a bit confusing at first.

For Aquatic Biomes Reading Passage and Pixel Art Activity
March 16, 2026My students enjoyed this activity. However, many were frustrated when "intertidal" would not work for the answer to question #8. Looking at the answer key it was misspelled in the Google Sheets file as "intertidel" and I am not able to correct it.

For Compound Probability Question Trail
February 6, 2026Some of the station answer choices are incorrect, based on the key. From what I can tell, three of them are incorrect (11, 3 and 13 I think). Also, clarification on some of the questions would be helpful, specifically on the vowel question (y?) and the blue flower/purple vase question.
