Description

These three electricity and circuits data graphing activities will help your students understand how voltage, current, resistance, and power are related, how series and parallel circuits behave differently, and how electricity use connects to energy consumption while building strong graphing and data analysis skills.

This bundle gives teachers an easy, NO PREP way to have students work with real-world style physical science datasets to explore Voltage, Current, Resistance & Power, Series vs. Parallel Circuits, and Energy Use & Consumption.

There are 3 Graphing Labs Included:

  1. Electrical Energy Consumption & Efficiency Data Investigation
  2. Ohm's Law, Circuit Relationships & Electrical Power Data Investigation
  3. Series & Parallel Circuit Analysis Investigation

My Promise to You

I know every classroom is different. If you purchase a resource and feel it is not the right fit for your students, contact me and I’ll provide 2x the amount you paid in store credit toward another resource in my store, so you can find something that better supports your students.

Students analyze real-world style electricity and circuit datasets related to how voltage affects current, how resistance changes electrical flow, how power changes in a circuit, how brightness differs in series and parallel circuits, how total resistance changes as bulbs are added, how voltage is distributed in parallel circuits, and how appliance use affects energy consumption over time. They then create a variety of graph types from data tables before using their graphs to identify patterns, analyze trends, and explain how electrical systems behave.

Each activity includes a complete answer key with the required graphs if you need to differentiate for different ability levels.

Students use provided real-world data tables to:

  • Create multiple types of graphs (line graphs, bar graphs, and scatter plots)
  • Identify patterns in voltage, current, resistance, power, brightness, and energy use
  • Compare how changes in voltage and resistance affect current
  • Analyze how different circuit setups change bulb brightness and resistance
  • Explore how voltage is distributed in parallel circuits
  • Use evidence from graphs to answer discussion questions about electricity and circuits

Each activity moves students from reading data → graphing data → interpreting patterns → explaining scientific processes.

This graphing bundle is also included inside my High School Science Graphing & Data Analysis Mega Bundle at a significant discount. The bundle contains graphing activities for grades 9-12 science topics in biological and physical sciences as well as specific subjects like chemistry, physics, and biology.
