This complete unit teaches students to make positive choices about safety in water, sun and local environments. They learn that positive connections with people and places and cultural connections can enhance health and wellbeing. Students learn about maintaining respectful relationships and effective ways to resolve conflict. In PE, students refine and apply fundamental movement skills, strategies and combinations across a variety of games and sports, including net and court, striking and fielding activities. They explore international sporting events such as the Olympic and Paralympic Games to understand how they promote unity.

The lessons are written in sequence to show the flow of learning and the building of concepts across lessons. To implement the syllabus and meet teaching requirements, teachers are expected to teach one PDH and one PE lesson each week.

Duration: 8 weeks + 2 weeks optional consolidation (16-lesson sequence, comprising of 8 PDH lessons and 8 PE lessons, with 4 optional consolidation lessons.)
